How to gift an app in the App Store app. You can also gift an app to anyone right from your iPhone or iPad. Step 1: Open the App Store app. Step 2: Find the app you want to gift. Step 3: Tap the share icon in the upper right corner of the screen. It looks like a square with an arrow pointing upward. Step 4: Tap “Gift” from the pop-up window. Amazon’s App and Website is fantastic. But there app is wonderful. You can shop for anything at the top of your fingers. There app is easy to us and have great products and have a lot different items. It’s so easy to use and the app is well organized. You are able to track and see where your packages at without any hassle. To redeem an iTunes gift card in iBooks or App Store on your Mac: iBooks—Open the iBooks app from your Dock, Launcher, Spotlight or the Applications folder. In the upper-left corner, click the iBooks Store button, then click the Redeem link underneath the Quick Links heading on the right side. App Store—Open the App Store app from your Dock.
Categories
Categories on the App Store and Mac App Store sort apps based on their main function or subject matter. Customers can browse categories, such as Entertainment, Shopping, or Social Networking, to find related apps. You can assign a primary and a secondary category to your app. The primary category is particularly important for discoverability, as it helps users find your app when browsing or filtering search results, and it determines in which tab your app appears on the App Store.

App Store editors write stories that showcase apps in interesting and informative ways. Our editors base their decisions on a variety of factors, all of which amount to a great product that customers will love. There is no paid placement or checklist of requirements for apps we write about or feature.
Stories.App Store editors talk about apps that have a unique story for example, a behind-the-scenes look at how a developer launched an app that disrupted an industry or how an app helped a customer solve a unique problem.
Apps and Games. When considering apps to feature, our editors look for high-quality apps across all categories, with a particular focus on new apps and apps with significant updates. Factors that our editors consider include:
- UI design: the usability, appeal, and overall quality of the app
- User experience: the efficiency and functionality of the app
- Innovation: apps that solve a unique problem for customers
- Localizations: high-quality and relevant
- Accessibility: well-integrated features

If your app has a unique story that our editorial team should know, tell us about it. For new apps or a significant update, let us know six to eight weeks in advance of your launch.
When you find something special in the App Store, iTunes Store, or Apple Books, you can gift it to a friend or family member. You can also send someone funds as Apple ID balance so that they can get iCloud storage, pay for subscriptions like Apple Music, or buy something from the App Store, iTunes Store, or Apple Books.
The recipient of your gift must have an Apple ID in your country or region. For example, if you're in the United States, you can't send a gift to a friend who lives in Australia.
You can't send gifts in all countries and regions. Store availability also varies by country or region. Learn what's available in your country or region.
Send a gift
- You can't gift individual songs on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. To gift a song, use your Mac or PC.
- You can't gift apps, TV shows, or movies on a Mac. To gift those items, use an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
Send a gift from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
- Open the App Store app, iTunes Store app, or Books app. If you're not signed in, sign in with your Apple ID.
- Find the item that you want to give.
- Find and tap the Gift button:
- In the App Store, tap the Share button , then tap Gift App .
- In the iTunes Store, tap the Share button , then tap Gift .
- In the Books app, tap Gift .
- Enter your recipient's email address. If you want, add a message.
- By default, the gift is sent immediately after you buy it. If you want to schedule the gift to send later, tap Today, then set the date that you want the gift to send.
- Tap Next.
- Select a theme for your gift, then tap Next.
- Tap Buy, then tap Buy Now to confirm.
You can't gift a free item, but you can tap the Share button to send someone a link to the item.
Send a gift from your computer
- Open the Music app or Apple Books. Or on a PC, open iTunes.
- In the iTunes Store or Book Store, find the item that you want to gift.
- Click the Show sharing options button next to the item's price.
- From the menu that appears, choose Gift This [item type].
- Enter your recipient's email address.
- If you want, add a message.
- By default, the gift is sent immediately after you buy it. If you want to schedule the gift to send later, select Other Date, then set a date.
- Click Next.
- Select a theme for your gift and click Next.
- To confirm your gift purchase, click Buy Gift.
You can't gift a free item, but you can click the Show sharing options button to share a link to the item.
Email a gift card
When you send a gift card by email, the recipient can redeem the amount to their Apple ID balance, which can be used for apps, games, iCloud storage, subscriptions like Apple Music, and more. But for some purchases, Apple ID balance can't be used. Learn what you can buy with Apple ID balance.
Email a gift card from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
- Open the App Store app.
- Tap your photo or the sign in button at the top of the screen. If you're not signed in, sign in with your Apple ID.
- Tap 'Send Gift Card by Email.'
- Enter your recipient's email address. If you want, add a message.
- Tap the amount that you want to gift, or tap other to enter a different amount.
- By default, the gift is sent immediately after you buy it. If you want to schedule the gift to send later, tap Today, then set the date that you want the gift to send.
- Tap Next.
- Select a theme for your gift, then tap Next.
- Tap Buy, then tap Buy Now to confirm.
Email a gift card from your computer
- Open the iTunes Store in the Music app or the Book Store in Apple Books. Or on a PC, open iTunes.
- Under Quick Links, click Send Gift.
- Enter your recipient's email address.
- Add a message.
- Click the amount that you want to gift, or click Other to enter a different amount.
- By default, the gift is sent immediately after you buy it. If you want to schedule the gift to send later, select Other Date, then set the date that you want the gift to send.
- Click Next.
- Select a theme for your gift, then click Next.
- To confirm your gift, click Buy Gift.
Resend a gift
When you send someone a gift, they receive an email notification. In the email, they can tap or click Redeem to redeem the gift. The item will open and start to download to their device or computer. Then you'll get an email with a line item that says 'App Store & iTunes Gift for [email address].'

If you send a gift and the recipient doesn't receive an email, resend the gift.
Resend a gift from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap your name, then tap iTunes & App Store.
- Tap your Apple ID at the top of the screen, then tap View Apple ID. You might be asked to sign in with your Apple ID.
- Tap Gifts. If you don’t see Gifts, then you haven’t purchased any gifts with this Apple ID recently.
- Tap the gift that you want to resend.
- Tap Resend Gift. If you don't see Resend Gift, it has already been redeemed.
Before you resend, make sure that the recipient's email is spelled correctly. If you need to edit or change the recipient's email address, tap their email address on the Gift detail screen.

How To Gift An App From Your Mac Without
- Open the Music app or Apple Books. Or if you're on a PC, open iTunes.
- From the menu bar at the top of the screen, choose Account > View My Account. (In Apple Books, choose Store > View My Apple ID.) You might be asked to sign in with your Apple ID.
- On the Account Information page, scroll to the Purchase History section and click Manage Gifts.
If you don’t see Manage Gifts, you haven’t purchased any App Store & iTunes Gifts with this Apple ID recently. - Click View next to the gift that you want to resend.
- Click Resend Gift. Before you resend, make sure that the recipient's email is spelled correctly. To edit the recipient's email address, change the address in the box under Recipient.

- If you want to cancel a gift, you can contact Apple Support up to two days before scheduled delivery.
- Gifts are charged to the payment method that you have on file for your Apple ID, even if you have balance available. You can't buy a gift with credit.
- If you're using Family Sharing and Ask To Buy is turned on for your account, you can't purchase gifts.
